OVERVIEW
BreakThrough Inc. provides services to children ages seven through twenty one. We provide a highly structured, fully staffed, residential setting in local neighborhoods in Spokane, Tri-Cities, and throughout Washington state.
We emphasize the importance of structure and living in a family setting. The home atmosphere is an important part of our program, preparing the youth to move on and to live in a family setting in the future. BreakThrough Inc. provides a highly structured family living environment complete with trained support staff members who maintain hands on interaction with the children. Our program is overseen by a highly qualified Management Team who work with the children and staff members on a daily basis. BreakThrough Inc. is dedicated to the children in our care, providing a high number of staff members combined with a low number of youth. This ensures that the children receive adequate time, attention, and structure from our staff to help reach their goals with the program.
Learning and applying appropriate social skills are important components for success in our Specialized Youth Treatment Program. Many of the youth in our SYTP struggle with respect and personal issues that impact their ability to function in a family dynamic. BreakThrough Inc. focuses on providing opportunities for the youth to learn responsible behavior, accountability, work ethic and improved family communication skills to better serve them in their future lives. Participation in family activities and doing daily family chores are also integral parts of our program.
The most important feature of our SYTP is the way in which we are able to focus on the individual needs of each child in our program.
Some of the children in our care have learning disabilities and/or behavioral issues that are preventing them from finding success at home and at school. We focus on creating a treatment program tailored to each individual child’s needs, implemented through specialized programs both at school and at home. BreakThrough Inc. provides hands on care by highly trained staff members who follow a detailed treatment plan for each individual child. In addition, we offer a unique opportunity for families and children to work together as a team to make a transition into Therapeutic Foster Care or a family member’s home.
The goal and vision statement of our Specialized Youth Treatment Program is to work with all children in our care, mentoring safe, appropriate, ethically sound life goals for each child, and integrating specialized programs at school and at home, focusing on each child’s specific needs.
